• The Vanford A features Shimano's lightweight Ci4+ carbon body, ensuring rigidity while reducing size and weight. While internally, the MGL Rotor powers the Vanford. With 48% less rotational inertia than a traditional rotor, the MGL Rotor offers precision and balance for lighter rotations and increased sensitivity.
• Long Stroke Spool technology to increase casting distance while producing a smoother line lay on the spool during retrieval.
• Hagane gearing, SilentDrive, MicroModule Gear II, and X-Protect. 
• Available in a wide range of sizes, from an ultra-light 500 size perfect for trout, panfish, or ice fishing all the way up to a 5000 suitable for saltwater flats fishing.

The Shimano Vanford Spinning Reels are a new line-up of high-performance, lightweight spinning reels that replace the recently discontinued Stradic CI4+. The Vanford is built around the same CI4+ frame as its predecessor but now uses a MagnumLite (MGL) spool for lower rotational spool inertia, which in turn offers an incredibly quick response in critical situations like hook setting and tense fish-fights. 

The reel also has Long Stroke Spool technology to increase casting distance while producing a smoother line lay on the spool during retrieval. SilentDrive and MicroModule Gear II technologies combine to produce a new level of smooth rotational performance while reducing overall reel vibration. X-Protect technology and water-channeling construction enhance Vanford’s water resistance and overall durability - making it suitable for inshore saltwater and estuary fishing.
